Hispanic Broadcasting contracted with XM at it's launch to provide 5 Spanish language music channels. HBC was given, as part of the agreement, the sales right to half of the sales inventory of the channels to sell. This agreement continued until XM decided to make all of its music channels non-commercial.
Aguila is mix of various rhythms from most regions of Mexico. Cumbias, rancheras, norteñas, boleros, banda, and other styles will be combined to cater to the wide musical tastes of mostly Mexican consumers across the USA.
Caricia features soft, romantic and pop ballads. It also features the best artists from our time. Caricia will seduce the listener's ear and sensibility.
Vibra features the best sounds of Spanish rock from the 80's, 90's and today. In Vibra you will listen the great and unique sound of artists such as Jaguares, Soda Stereo, Enanitos Verdes, La Union, Café Tacuba among others. Vibra will be the first radio station in the United States that will play pure Rock en Español music 24 hours a day.
The XM Tejano Channel will feature a fusion of rancheras, cumbias and baladas that cater to the second, third and fourth generation Hispanic born in Texas. Whether it's accordion driven, keyboard based, traditional or contemporary, the XM Tejano Channel will feature the Texas based music that in the early 90's brought Selena, Emilio and La Mafia into more mainstream musical genres.
